BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's and women's cross country teams posted impressive finishes in their season-opening CBB Tri-Meet Saturday at Pickard Fields. The Polar Bear women took first overall while the men placed second against squads from Bates and Colby. 

Women's Meet Highlights

• Bowdoin totaled a team score of 21, posting four of the top five finishers to take first in the women's 4.5k, defeating Colby (45) and Bates (62). 
• Angelina Hickey was second overall, and the top Bowdoin finisher, in a time of 15:59.8. 
• She was followed closely by Laura White (16:00.0), Cam Meyer (16:01.4), and Kaylee Hale (16:10.3) in third through fifth spot. 
• Tori Bacall also took a top-ten showing, placing seventh in a time of 16:32.6. 

Men's Meet Highlights

• Bowdoin placed second in the men's 6k race, ending with 40 points as Colby took first with 22 and Bates third with 70. 
• Seamus McDonough was the top Polar Bear, placing second in 18:49.2. 
• Will Downs was fifth (19:03.0), Elliot Fontaine was seventh (19:07.4) to earn top-ten showings.
• Ryan Boulanger (12th, 19:23.7) and Ashton Dunlap (14th, 19:29.1) were the next two Bowdoin finishers.

• The cross country teams are off until Saturday, September 20, when they will host the Maine State Meet at Pickard Fields beginning with the men's race at 10:00 a.m. followed by the women's race at 11:00 a.m.
