SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine - The Bowdoin cross country teams opened their 2026 seasons at the Regional Preview Meet on Saturday at the Wainwright Sports Complex in South Portland. The Polar Bear women won the nine-team field with 25 points, while the Bowdoin men placed second among 11 teams with 68 points.

Women's Meet Highlights

• Bowdoin won the team competition with 25 points, ahead of runner-up Brandeis (69).
• The Polar Bears placed seven consecutive runners from third through ninth, led by Laura White, who finished third in 12:22.7 in the 3.34k race.
• Kaylee Hale (4th, 12:22.9), Cam Meyer (5th, 12:23.0), Angelina Hickey (6th, 12:25.1) and Elise Casso (7th, 12:25.3) completed Bowdoin's scoring five.
• Francine Miller (8th) and Gwen Purnell (9th) completed Bowdoin's top seven, while Audrey Stevens finished 10th overall.

Men's Meet Highlights

• Bowdoin finished second with 68 points, trailing team champion Brandeis (22).
• Matthew Servin led the Polar Bears, placing 11th overall in 13:51.8 on the 4.34k course.
• Oliver Brandes (12th), Seamus McDonough (13th) and Ryan Boulanger (14th) followed directly behind Servin, with less than a second separating Bowdoin's first four finishers.
• Elliott Fontaine placed 18th in 13:54.6 to complete the scoring five, giving Bowdoin a spread of just 2.8 seconds between its first and fifth runners.
