Women's Cross Country Earns First NCAA Championship Bid Since 2007

BRUNSWICK, Maine – For the first time since 2007, the Bowdoin College women's cross country team has earned a trip to the NCAA Division III Championships. The Polar Bears will travel to Spartanburg, S.C., next Saturday, November 22, to compete at nationals.

The Polar Bears earned an at-large bid following an outstanding campaign that saw them ranked fifth in the final USTFCCCA East Region rankings and 27th in the latest Division III poll. Bowdoin finished first in the CBB Tri-Meet and Maine State Meet to open the season, placed seventh at the NESCAC Championship two weeks ago and then earned a fifth place finish at the NCAA Regional last weekend to secure a trip to nationals.

Converse University and OneSpartanburg, Inc. are hosting the championships Nov. 22 at Roger Milliken Cross Country course at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The men's race will begin at 10 a.m. Eastern, followed by the women's race at 11 a.m. Eastern.

A complete preview will be available later this week. Full championship information is available at NCAA.com.
