Bowdoin Women's Cross Country Finishes Eighth at NESCAC Championship

MANCHESTER, Conn. – The Bowdoin College women's cross country raced to an eighth-place finish at the 2021 New England Small College Athletic Conference Championship Sunday at Wickham Park in Connecticut.

The Polar Bears finished with 193 team points to finish eighth among the 11 schools at the competition.

Meet Highlights
  • On a chewed-up course late in the afternoon, the Polar Bears climbed the standings late in the race with strong finishes across the board.
  • Sitting in tenth place early in the race, Bowdoin rose to ninth and passed Wesleyan for eighth in the final 1k, thanks in great part to Leila Trummel, who used a late surge to rise to 12th place and earn Second Team All-NESCAC honors in a time of 24:12.8.
  • Cameron Mackenzie was 23rd in 24:38.9 while Stephanie Chun placed 49th in 25:41.0.
  • Abby Mueller was 58th in 26:02.3 and Emma Noel 94th in 26:54.0 to round out the Bowdoin scorers at the meet.
Up Next
  • The Polar Bears will return to action on November 13 at the NCAA Regional hosted by Suffolk at Franklin Park in Boston.
