Women's Cross Country Sprints to Impressive Showing at Suffolk Invitational

oBOSTON, Mass. – The Bowdoin College women's cross country team ran to an impressive third place finish in the "Navy" section at the Suffolk Invitational on Saturday. The Polar Bears finished with 58 team points, just edged by Colby for second place in a 16-team field that included a number of Division I competitors. 
 
Meet Highlights
  • Cameron Mackenzie ran an outstanding race, finishing fifth in a time of 23:41.8, but taking third among Division III competitors in the 6k race. 
  • Leila Trummel (7th, 23:48.0) also earned a top-ten finish while Stephanie Chun (14th, 24:25.1) rounded out the top Polar Bear finishers.
  • Abby Mueller (24th, 24:50.2) and Emma Noel (35th, 25:17.0) also scored for Bowdoin while Jane Hirschman posted a career-best of 25:34.8 in 41st spot.

  • The Polar Bears return home for the Bowdoin Invitational II next Saturday, with some of the squad competing and some resting in advance of the NESCAC Championship on October 31.
