Men's 4x100 Relay Sets School Mark as Track & Field Competes at State Meet/Pine Tree Classic

LEWISTON, Maine – The Bowdoin College track and field teams competed at the Maine State Championship and Pine Tree Classic this weekend at Bates College.

Men's State Meet Highlights

Leading the way for the Bowdoin men was the record-breaking performance by the 4x100 relay team, who took first place in a school-record time of 41.10 seconds. Noah Rockey, Lorenzo Shields, Ronan O'Flaherty, and Kane Demers won the state crown and broke the mark set in 2024 by Demers, O'Flaherty, Dov Mcguire-Berk, and Justin Whitney (41.97) by 0.87 seconds.
Ronan O'Flaherty won the 200m (21.61) and Noah Rockey took the 400m (47.82), breaking his own school record, to account for the other Bowdoin winners.
Kane Demers took second in the 100m (10.84), Will Silverstein was second in the 200m (21.86), and Matthew Servin took runner-up in the 1500m (3:56.94).
The Polar Bears finished with a team score of 103.5 points, finishing in fourth place overall in the nine-team field.

Women's Pine Tree Classic Highlights

Several Polar Bears collected top-three finishes in the women's Pine Tree Classic meet, led by second-place showings from Lex Davis in the 1500m (4:56.44), Isabella Ornelas in the 3000 steeplechase (12:53.11), and Sophie Maguire in the pole vault (3.30m).
Kennedy Kirkland was third in the 100m (12.33), Sophia Young took third in the long jump (5.49m), and Sonia Katahdin was third in the hammer throw (45.10m).
Bowdoin totaled 70.5 team points to take fifth place in the ten-team field.

Bowdoin will compete at the 2026 NESCAC Championships next weekend at Williams College.
