Track & Field Teams Compete at Colby Tune-up in Advance of New England's

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin College track & field teams competed at Colby's Mule Tune-up last weekend, earning several strong performances in advance of the championship season.

Women's Meet Highlights

In the field, Bridget Lopez Valenzuela claimed the high jump title, clearing 1.48m, while Sophie Maguire won the pole vault with a clearance of 3.45m to lead a strong showing in the vertical jumps for the Polar Bears.
On the track, Francine Miller delivered a standout distance performance, placing second in the 1000 meters in 3:04.30. Bowdoin also saw a runner-up finish from Andrea Becker in the 3000 meters (10:36.48).
The Polar Bears added second-place finishes in the horizontal jumps and throws, as Sophia Young was runner-up in the long jump (5.27m) and Sonia Katahdin placed second in the shot put with a throw of 11.52m.

Men's Meet Highlights

In the field events, Charlie Aucoin led the way with a first-place performance in the shot put, winning the event with a throw of 17.01 meters to pace the Polar Bears.
Bowdoin added a pair of second-place finishes in the sprints. Lorenzo Shields placed runner-up in the 200 meters in 22.88 seconds, while Will Davis took second in the 400 meters with a time of 53.87.
