LEWISTON, Maine – For the fourth straight season, the Bowdoin women's track & field team won the Maine State Indoor Championship, hosted Saturday at Bates College.
 
Meet Highlights

• The Polar Bears ran away with the crown, posting 220 team points to easily out-distance Bates (186.83) and Colby (134) in the eight-team field.
• Kennedy Kirkland led the way for the Polar Bears, winning the long jump in a meet-record distance of 5.72m and also claiming first in the 200m (26.22) and taking third in the 60m (7.92).
• Bowdoin's distance runners dominated, with wins coming from Kaylee Hale in the 800m (2:20.10), Laura White in the 1000m (3:03.57), Audrey Stevens in the mile (5:18.63), and Lela Griffith in the 3000m (10:40.36).
• The women's 4x800 relay team also earned a win in 9:43.64 thanks to Hale, Stevens, Emma Randall-Jarrard, and White.
• In addition to Kennedy's win in the long jump, Bowdoin also got field event victories from Bridget Lopez Valenzuela in the high jump (1.53m) and Sophie Maguire in the pole vault (3.30m).
