BRUNSWICK, Maine – Three members of the Bowdoin outdoor track & field programs will compete at the NCAA Division III Championships beginning Thursday at Veteran's Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Kennedy Kirkland (women's long jump),
Mardy Novak (women's javelin), and
Charlie Aucoin (men's discus) will represent the Polar Bears at this year's championship.
Charlie Aucoin will be the first to compete for Bowdoin on
Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the men's discus. Aucoin qualified with his season-best throw of 50.99m at Emory's Dooley Elite Invitational on April 4. He is seeded 22
nd in the country coming into nationals.
Kennedy Kirkland will follow for Bowdoin, competing in the
women's long jump at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. Kirkland enters the competition seeded seventh in Division III thanks to her distance of 5.91m at the NESCAC Championship on April 25.
Mardy Novak will close out the week for Bowdoin, competing in the
women's javelin beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Novak's season-best throw of 43.27m at the NESCAC Championship on April 25 puts her 11
th in Division III entering nationals.
