Track & Field Teams Post Several Top Finishes at Tufts Invitational

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Bowdoin College track & field team boasted several top-five finishes at the Tufts Spring Stampede this weekend, featuring a large field of top Division III squads.

Men's Meet Highlights

Bowdoin's 4x400 relay team of Lorenzo Shields, Joseph Phillips, Ronan O'Flaherty, Noah Rockey posted a victory for the Polar Bears, finishing in 3:18.91 to take the win.
The top individual performance for the Polar Bears came from Henry Risch, who placed second in the discus (43.17m).
Kane Demers was third in the 110 hurdles (14.69) and fourth in the 200m (21.97) for Bowdoin.
Seamus McDonough was fourth in the 5K (14:53.70) while pole vaulters Ethan Heldman and OIiver Neuenschwander tied for fourth place at a height of 4.45m.
Omar Frostman El-Hmaini rounded out the top-five finishes for Bowdoin with a fifth-place finish in the triple jump (13.59m)

Women's Meet Highlights

Kaylee Hale picked up the win for Bowdoin in the 800 meters, finishing a time of 2:17.17 to take first place.
Bowdoin took a pair of runner-up showings in field events as Kennedy Kirkland was second in the long jump (5.59m) and Mardy Novak took second place in the javelin (40.54m).
Laura White placed second in the 1500 race (4:37.51) while Anna Kim was third in the 100m (12.52) and Sophie Donnelly took third in the 400m (1:00.87).
Bowdoin's top relay finish of the day came from the 4x100 relay team of Sophia Young, Kirkland, Kim, and Juliette Coley who also placed third in a time of 48.76.

Up Next

The Polar Bears will head to Bates next Friday and Saturday, April 17-18, for the Pine Tree State Classic.
