Abbie Quinn (Bangor, Maine) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Quinn helped the Polar Bears remain perfect in NESCAC play with a pair of key home wins. Against Hamilton, Quinn scored 21 points on 10-for-17 shooting in a nine-point win over the Continentals. On Saturday versus Amherst, with Bowdoin trailing by seven in the third quarter, Quinn scored 13 straight points to turn the deficit into a six-point lead in the fourth quarter, propelling Bowdoin to a 57-52 victory, ending with 21 points and six rebounds.
For the weekend, Quinn averaged 21.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and shot 53 percent from the field, and 8-for-11 from the free throw line.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Tuesday evening when they travel to Castine for their final non-conference regular season game at Maine Maritime at 7:00 p.m. in a game that was originally scheduled for December 12.
