Men's Golf Closes Fall Season with Impressive Sixth-Place Finish at Skidmore Invitational

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Bowdoin College men's golf team capped an impressive fall campaign with a strong performance at the Skidmore Fall Invitational over the weekend, posting its lowest team round of the season en route to a sixth-place finish at Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Course.

The Polar Bears fired a four-under-par 288 in Saturday's second round, their best single-round score of the fall and just six strokes shy of the program record of 282 established last spring. Bowdoin finished the 54-hole tournament with a team score of 884 (304-288-292), placing sixth in a competitive field and just two strokes out of fourth place. Bowdoin's outstanding play over the final 36 holes was particularly impressive, as the Polar Bears combined for a four-under-par 580 over the final two rounds, the second-best total in the field during that stretch. NYU captured the team title with an 853, followed by Middlebury (874) and Amherst (879). Skidmore and Clarkson tied for fourth at 882, just two shots ahead of Bowdoin.
