CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Bowdoin College indoor track & field teams posted numerous top-five finishes at the highly-competitive Gordon Kelly Invitational hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology last weekend.
 
Kennedy Kirkland led the way for the Polar Bears with a victory in the women's long jump in the competition that included numerous Division I and II institutions from around the region in the non-scoring meet.
 
Women's Meet Highlights

• Kirkland captured Bowdoin's lone win of the meet in the long jump, posting a distance of 5.55 meters to take the event.
• Bowdoin's distance runners took runner-up finishes thanks to Laura White in the 1000 meters (3:01.52) and Cam Meyer in the 3000 meters (10:30.87).
• Catherine Uwakwe was fourth in the 400 meters (1:01.37) and Emma Randall-Jarrard placed fourth in the 800 meters (2:23.82), while Caitlin Heus-Smith took fourth in the triple jump (10.57 meters).

Men's Meet Highlights

• Kane Demers placed third in the 60 hurdles (8.41) and Charlie Aucoin took third in the shot put (14.54 meters) to lead the Bowdoin finishers in the men's meet.
• Bowdoin also claimed a pair of fifth-place finishes thanks to Matthew Servin in the 1000 meters (2:37.48) and Ethan Heldman in the pole vault (4.35 meters).
• Bowdoin's 4x400 relay team of Douglas Bogle, Omar Frostman El-Hmaini, Lorenzo Shields, Joseph Phillips posted the top relay finish of the day for the Polar Bears, taking sixth place overall (3:32.41).
