Men's Track and Field

Track & Field Collects Four All-American Honors at NCAA Championships

GENEVA, Ohio – The Bowdoin College track & field teams brought home four All-Americans from its trip to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships last weekend.
 
Championship Highlights
  • Adepoju Arogundade led the way for the Polar Bears, earning First Team All-American recognition thanks to a fourth-place showing in the men's 400 meter hurdles. Arogundade qualified with the sixth-best time in preliminaries, and then ran a 52.65 in the finals to finish fourth, just .41 seconds off the winning pace, far above his 13th-seeded time heading into the championship.
  • Oliver Brandes ran a tenth-place time of 1:52.18 in the preliminaries of the men's 800 meter run, just missing out on qualifying for finals by .18 seconds but earning Second Team All-American in the process.
  • In the women's long jump Kennedy Kirkland posted a distance of 5.61 meters to take 15th spot and earn Second Team All-American.
  • Ian Stebbins cleared a height of 4.70 meters in the men's pole vault, which was moved indoors due to poor weather, taking 16th spot overall and also taking Second Team All-American recognition.
  • Mardy Novak competed in the women's javelin for the Polar Bears, posting a throw of 35.62 meters to place 20th overall.
