BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin senior Mackay Bommer (Rye, N.Y.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week.
 
Bommer lifted the Polar Bears to their first win over Middlebury since 2015, handing the No. 2 ranked Panthers their first conference home loss since 2022 in a 2-1 shootout victory on Saturday. Trailing 1-0 in the third quarter, Bommer netted her fifth goal of the season to even the score. After a scoreless fourth quarter and overtime, the match went to a shootout, where Bommer buried the decisive fifth-round tally to seal the win for Bowdoin.
 
Bowdoin will return to action on Wednesday night at Husson at 7:00 p.m.
