Will Goddard finished 46
th at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Indiana.
The Polar Bear senior finished the 8K course in a time of 24:50.4, earning his best finish in three trips to the national meet. Goddard started in the middle of the pack but moved up 70 spots over the final 7,000 meters.
Goddard was sitting in 63
rd spot at the 5K mark, but had moved up to 54
th (nine spots) by 6.5K, and then closed out eight more runners to climb to 46
th at the wire to cap his finish. His time was 48.8 seconds off the winning pace.
