Men's Track & Field Earns Runner-Up Finish at Pine Tree State Classic

STANDISH, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's track & field team took a second place finish at the Pine Tree State Classic hosted by St. Joseph's College on Saturday. The Polar Bears totaled 113 points to finish only behind Bates (231) in the eight-team field.

  • Bowdoin's wins came from the track on a blustery day with challenging conditions.
  • Ajay Olson ran an 11.05 to claim the 100m dash while Lars Sorom took first place in the 400m in a time of 50.74.
  • Brooks Peters led a 1-2 finish for Bowdoin in the 1500m (3:58.49) with John Auer right behind (3:59.04).
  • The top field performance came from Kane Demers, who took second place in the triple jump (13.01m) while also taking third in the 110 hurdles (16.51).
  • Other top showings included a 2-3 finish in the 5k from Adam Nelson (15:57.86) and Ashton Dunlap (16:07.20) and third-place finish from Justin Whitney in the long jump (6.56m).
