LEWISTON, Maine – The Bowdoin men's track & field team began its outdoor season with multiple victories on a cool and wet afternoon at the Bates Quad Meet. Despite the conditions, the Polar Bears came away second in the four-team competition, compiling 63 points to trail only Bates (100), and place ahead of Southern Maine (31) and Colby (3).
 
Meet Highlights

• On the track, first-year Lars Sorom placed first in the 800m (1:56.69) while Will Goddard won the 1500 event at the line (4:02.69).
• Ben Bockmann won the 3000 steeplechase by a wide margin, finishing in 9:56.23.
• The Polar Bears went 1-2-3 in the 100 hurdles, led by William Warlick (15.43), followed closely by Adepoju Arogundade (15.84) and Kane Demers (16.40)
• Max Russo won the 400 hurdles (54.84) with Arogundade also placing as runner-up in that event (56.69).
• Bowdoin's 4x100 team of Sorom, Ben Kiritsy, Owen Ratliff, and Eli Mears also placed first in 3:38.54.

• In a change to the announced preseason schedule, the Polar Bears will now travel to Gordon College to compete in the Jonathan Tymann Invitational next Saturday, April 8, in Wenham, Massachusetts.
