Hodge and Benjamin Capture All-American Honors at NCAA Indoor Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Bowdoin pole vaulter Charlotte Hodge and sprinter Kianne Benjamin came away with All-American honors last weekend as the Polar Bears competed at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship.

Meet Highlights
  • Kianne Benjamin continued to make her mark on the Bowdoin record books, earning the third and fourth All-American honors of her career. Benjamin set two new school records in prelims, qualifying for the finals in the 60m (7.58) and earning the top prelim time in the 200m (24.50). In the 60m finals, Benjamin posted a time of 7.73 seconds to take seventh place and then, later Saturday, went 24.52 in the 200m to earn fourth, collecting a pair of All-American honors within the span of a few hours.
  • In Friday's women's pole vault, Charlotte Hodge cleared her first three heights seamlessly and then surpassed both the 3.80m and 3.85m marks, which proved good enough for fifth place to earn the second All-American honor of her career at Bowdoin.
  • Ajay Olson ran a time of 22.20 in his prelims of the 200m race on Friday, missing out on qualifying for Saturday's final. Leila Trummel also traveled to Alabama and out-performed her seeding with a season best of 4:59.38 in the mile prelims, which just missed out on qualifying for Saturday's final.
