Amherst Races Past Women's Hockey in Saturday Series Finale

Box Score AMHERST, Mass. – The Bowdoin women's hockey team scored first but surrendered seven unanswered goals in a 7-1 loss to Amherst on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears sink to 7-11-1 (2-10-0 NESCAC). The third-ranked Mammoths climb to 18-1-0 (11-1-0 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Brett Stoddard scored the only goal of the first period, netting a power play goal at 6:21. Stoddard finished off a feed from Gia Massari to give the Polar Bears the 1-0 lead.
  • Amherst scored a pair of quick goals under three minutes into the second period to take the 2-1 lead.
  • The Mammoths exploded for five goals in the final frame.
 
By the Numbers
  • Dani Marquez made 39 saves in net for the Polar Bears, playing 54:07 and allowing five goals.
