Women's Hockey Falls on Third Period Goals From Williams

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Williams College women's ice hockey team scored twice in the third period to rally past Bowdoin on Friday evening, 3-2. The Polar Bears fall to 11-11-0 (5-10-0 NESCAC) while the Ephs move to 15-3-5 (8-3-4 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • The Polar Bears scored 5:31 into the game to take a 1-0 lead. Abigail Ainley put a shot on net, and the big kick save rebound slid right up to Molly Cataldo. Cataldo skated down between the dots and put the puck away.
  • Williams capitalized on a turnover in the neutral zone and built a two-on-goal that resulted in a Charlotte Fetherston goal.
  • Meghan Britt and Bella Schifano broke away into the Williams zone and regained the lead at 12:07. Britt took the puck down the right and crossed to Schifano who backhanded a shot off the crossbar.
  • Willaims scored two unanswered goals in the third to secure the victory. Reese Luber converted from the left point and Zoe Rosenburg buried a rebound off a turnover in the Bowdoin zone.

  • Williams owned a 38-34 advantage in shots in the game.
  • Sarah Peterson made 35 saves in goal for the Polar Bears.
  • Williams went 1-4 on the power play and held Bowdoin to 0-3 on the night.
