Women's Hockey Sweeps Connecticut College to Close Out Home Schedule

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Elena DiMagno scored midway through overtime to lift the Bowdoin women's ice hockey team to a 2-1 overtime win and series sweep of Connecticut College.
 
The Polar Bears claim the series and improve to 11-10-0 (5-9-0 NESCAC). The Camels return to Connecticut with a 7-13-2 (3-12-1 NESCAC) record.

Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin broke through midway through the first period to take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission. The Camels attempted to clear the puck up the middle only to have Maddie Wojciak intercept the play and put a shot back down the slot. Meghan Britt deflected the puck as it came through to best Devon Galizio.
  • The Camels scored a power play goal with 4:01 remaining in the second to tie the game. Sofia Polizzi fired a shot from top of the zone with the rebound kicking out to the left post. Charlotte Harris cleaned up the puck and found an open look into the near side of Bowdoin's net.
  • At 2:16 in overtime, Anyi Sun backhanded a pass from behind the net to DiMagno on the left post. DiMagno buried the game-winning one-timer on Senior Day.
By the Numbers
  • Bowdoin went 0-for-3 on the power play.
  • Connecticut went 1-for-3 on the power play.
  • Galizio made 22 stops.
  • Abby Matusovich made 16 saves for the win.
  • The Camels won 31 out of 51 faceoffs.
