LEWISTON, Maine – Highlighted by a record-setting performance from
Ian Stebbins, the Bowdoin College indoor track & field teams enjoyed a successful weekend of action at the Bates Invitational.

Women's Team Scores: Maine (176), Husson (137.5), Bates (134.5), Bowdoin (100), Maine-Farmington (30)
Men's Meet Highlights
- Ian Stebbins broke the heptathlon record with a 4,442-point performance, taking first place overall and shattering the previous school record by nearly 300 points (Joe Staudt, 2016). Stebbins posted personal bests in six of the seven events, placing first among the competitors in the 60 hurdles and pole vault and runner-up in the long jump, shot put and high jump sections.
- Other first-place finishers included Lars Sorom in the 800m (2:02.77), Brooks Peters in the 1000m (2:38.06), and a 1-5 finish for the Polar Bears in the 3000m, won by Sam Angevine (8:45.82)
- In the field events, Justin Whitney won the long jump with a personal best of 6.62m (21' 8.75").
Women's Meet Highlights
- Lauren Traum led the way for the women's squad, taking first place in the 1000m (3:06.24), followed closely by Emma Noel (3:12.17).
- Kelsey Crawford was the top collegiate finisher in the 3000m, winning in a time of 11:03.49.
- The Polar Bears had a number of other strong performances, including runner-up finishes by Lex Davis in the 800m (2:29.12) and Leila Trummel in the mile (5:14.90).
- Sophie Maguire was runner-up in the pole vault (3.15m, 10'4") while Kianne Benjamin was second in the long jump (4.96, 16'3.25")
