WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's track & field team racked up numerous individual wins, led by Meet MVP's
Cheng Xing and
Ajay Olson, on their way to a second-place finish at the 2022 Maine State Intercollegiate Indoor Track & Field Championship Saturday at Colby.
Bates won the meet with 240.5 points, followed by Bowdoin (180.5) in the eight-team competition.
Meet Highlights
- Ajay Olson was named the Track MVP of the meet after a pair of wins, including the 60M (6.96) and 200M (22.21) events.
- Cheng Xing was outstanding as well, capturing the Goodrich Award for Field Event MVP thanks to victories in the long jump (6.60m) and triple jump (13.40m).
- Bowdoin also received first-place showings from Max Russo in the 600M (1:23.29), Eli Franklin in the 800M (1:57.70) and John Auer in the mile (4:18.00).
- The men's 4x800 relay squad of Auer, Brooks Peters, Griffin Ott and Franklin also came away victorious in a time of 8:10.49 to close out the meet.
- Bowdoin also boasted a number of other top-five performances on the day, with complete results available here.
