HARTFORD, Conn. - The Bowdoin College men's outdoor track & field team took fourth place at the 2018 NESCAC Championship Saturday at Trinity College.

The Polar Bears totaled 110 points to finish comfortably in fourth, ahead of fifth-place Bates (78) and behind third-place Tufts (137).

Meet Highlights

• Bowdoin garnered a trio of first-place showings in field events, with John Pietro winning both the shot put and hammer throw and Brian Greenberg winning the triple jump.
• Pietro tossed a distance of 15.58m to win the shot put and 55.78m to take the hammer while Greenberg jumped a distance of 14.32m winning the triple jump. Greenberg (6.74m) also took third in the long jump.
• Other top-three showings (All-NESCAC) included Yaw Sekyere (3rd, 100M), Joseph Staudt (3rd, 110M hurdles), Ben Torda (3rd, 3000M steeplechase) and Amir Parker (3rd, discus).
• Bowdoin's top relay squad came in the 4x800 race as Sean MacDonald, Dylan Welch, John Kennealy and Conor Donahue took second place by a fraction of a second.
