Men's Lacrosse Falls To Tufts In Regular Season Finale

MEDFORD, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team suffered a loss to Tufts in the final game of the regular season on Wednesday evening, 19-11.

The Polar Bears end the regular season with a 8-6 (4-6 NESCAC) record and will be the seventh seed for the upcoming NESCAC Championship. They will head to second-seeded Amherst on Saturday for the quarterfinals.

Game Highlights

  • Bowdoin scored the first two goals of the game- from Jimmy Young and Brett Kujala - before Tufts scored three-straight to end the first period with a 3-2 lead.
  • The Polar Bears evened the score on a Daniel Buckman goal to start the second quarter, but Tufts took command from there, out-scoring Bowdoin 8-1 over the final 12:31 of the first half to take an 11-4 lead at the break.
  • The Jumbos extended their lead to 17-7 after three quarters.
  • Bowdoin outscored Tufts 4-2 in the fourth quarter to close the final gap to 19-11.

By The Numbers

  • Bowdoin won 22 of 34 faceoffs, thanks in great part to 29-29 from Sam Carlin, but committed 18 turnovers in the loss.
  • Kendall Rogers had a game-high three goals for Bowdoin.
  • Tufts was led by four goals and two assists from Ben Connelly.
