Game Highlights

  • Bowdoin got on the board just 29 seconds into the game. Marissa Fichter picked up the puck in front of Wesleyan's net and handled around Sam Smith before wristing her shot from just beyond the crease.
  • Maureen Greason added to the Polar Bears lead at 3:48, putting back a rebound from the inside edge of the right circle.
  • The Polar Bears scored their third goal of the opening period just over five minutes into the game. Jess Cloutier carried the puck up the right boards and found Julie Dachille with a leading pass into Wesleyan's zone. Dachille handled down the slot and put away her team leading ninth goal of the season.
  • Bowdoin went up 4-0 midway through the second period off another Fichter goal. Tala Glass found Fichter on the far left post for a deflection past Allegra Grant.
  • The Cardinals spoiled the shutout with a power play goal at 16:14. A centering pass from Sarah Goss was a bit too much for Jackie Kilar to handle and the puck deflected from Kilar to Gina Mangiafridda. Mangiafridda collected the puck and buried a shot top left corner.
  • Grant came up with a stonewall save in the final minute of the period, turning away a breakaway by Katie Leininger at the right post.
  • Julia Surgenor tacked on Bowdoin's fifth at 10:25 in the third. Surgenor forced the goalie to commit at the left post and pulled back across the crease for an open look at the net.
  • Mangiafridda scored in the final 28 seconds, going five-hole on Sophia Lattanzio.
