MANSFIELD, Conn. - The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team rolled to its second-straight double-digit win in a 16-6 win at Eastern Connecticut State on Tuesday afternoon.

The Polar Bears stand at 2-2 this season following the win while the Warriors drop to 2-5 overall.

Game Highlights

• The Polar Bears put the contest out of reach early, scoring the first seven goals en route to an 8-1 lead after one quarter.
• Shawn Daly and Jeff Powers each scored twice in the run and Bowdoin outscored Eastern Conn. 4-1 in the second quarter to carry a 12-2 edge into the break.
• The Warriors outscored Bowdoin 3-1 in the third quarter and notched the first goal of the fourth to close the gap to 13-6 with 9:40 to go.
• Bowdoin rolled off the final three goals of the contest, however, to put the game on ice.

By The Numbers

• Powers finished with four goals for Bowdoin while Daly scored twice and added three assists.
• Jimmy Young and Matthew Crowell each had a pair of goals as well for the Polar Bears.
• Sam Carlin led a solid performance by the Bowdoin faceoff unit with seven wins in 12 tries while Tully Moyer and Pat Broughton both won 3-of-4 on the X. 
• Peter Mumford allowed just two goals and had three saves in one half of play for Bowdoin. John Young (eight saves, four goals) played 26:53 in the second half before giving way to Matt Cote (two saves) over the final 3:07.
