Brian Greenberg Leaps To All-American Honors at NCAA Track & Field

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Bowdoin junior Brian Greenberg earned All-American status by finishing sixth in the triple jump at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday.

Seeded eighth entering the championship, Greenberg jumped 14.36m (47-01.50) to rise into sixth place, where he held on through the finals to become Bowdoin's first male All-American triple jumper.

Notes

  • It was Greenberg's third trip to NCAA's after qualifying for the indoor and outdoor championships as a sophomore last year and his first All-American honor.
  • Katie Krupp became Bowdoin's first female All-American in the triple jump when she placed 5th in the NCAA championship in 2016 at Grinnell College in Iowa.
  • Jeff Mao '91 was the first Bowdoin triple jumper to qualify for the NCAA championship when he qualified and finished 12th in the triple jump in 1991. Both the 1991 nationals and the 2017 nationals were hosted by North Central College.
