BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bates College won the 2017 Maine State Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday evening at Farley Field House on the campus of Bowdoin College.
The Bobcats reclaim the crown for the first time since 2015. Bowdoin won the state title last winter.

Bowdoin Meet Highlights
- Brian Greenberg won the Goodrich Award for Outstanding Field Athlete at the championship, earning a personal best in winning the triple jump (14.58m) and second in the long jump (6.74m).
- Joseph Staudt won the 60m hurdles in a meet-record time of 8.38 seconds for the Polar Bears
- John Pietro won the shot put competition (14.46m) and took second overall in the weight throw (15.69m).
- Bowdoin won the 4x400 meter relay race in a time of 3:24.94 courtesy of Liam Nicoll, COlin Tiernan, John Kennealy and Garrett Thomas.
- Bennett Sneath took first place in the 1000m run in a time of 2:32.37 while Ben Torda won the 3000m race in 8:40.86
