MEDFORD, Mass. - Led by an individual title by Joseph Staudt, the Bowdoin men's indoor track team took a fifth-place finish overall at the New England Division III Championship hosted by Tufts on Saturday.

Bowdoin finished with a team total of 56 points, fourth among NESCAC teams. Tufts took first overall with 127 points.

Meet Highlights

• Staudt set a new school record and became Bowdoin's first New England D-III champ since 2014 by winning the 60-meter hurdles in 8.24 seconds. Staudt also placed seventh in the high jump (1.93m)
• Yaw Sekyere raced to a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash in 7.01 seconds, just .02 seconds off the winning time.
• John Pietro took third in the shot put with a toss of 15.15m in the finals and also placed sixth in the weight throw with a distance of 16.02m to lead the Bowdoin field performers.
• Conor Donahue took fifth in the 800 meter race (1:55.83) while Ben Torda placed fifth in the 3000 meters (8:35.40).
• Bowdoin's distance medley relay team of Sean MacDonald, Liam Nicoll, John Kennealy and Connor Rocket took third in a time of 10:24.77 to lead the Polar Bear relays on Saturday.
