MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team skated a 0-0 tie on Saturday afternoon at Wesleyan.

The Polar Bears (10-6-3, 5-4-2 NESCAC) were outshot by the Cardinals (7-6-4, 4-4-2 NESCAC), but shut out the hosts in a game that compiled a combined 14 penalties.

Game Highlights

• Wesleyan held a slight 9-8 edge after the first period, but neither team was able to convert in the opening 20 minutes.
• The Polar Bear penalty kill successfully stymied a 5-on-3 situation to preserve the scoreless deadlock early in the second frame.
• Maureen Greason and Marissa Fichter each put together promising looks in the period, but the Cardinals defense kept Bowdoin off the board.
• Jess Brennan had a pair of chances in the final frame. The first came on the power play with Kerri St. Denis denying the senior, while the second was a wraparound that St. Denis blocked at the post.
