Box Score AMHERST, Mass. – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team was unable to hold on to an early lead and fell 4-2 to host Amherst on Saturday night.
Amherst improves to 6-4-2 (2-3-2 NESCAC), while Bowdoin falls to 8-3-2 (3-2-1 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin claimed a 1-0 lead 3:15 into the game off a Maureen Greason play. The junior intercepted a pass behind the net and ripped a no angle shot from the bottom of the right circle to go five-hole.
- Amherst looked for an equalizer two minutes later, but Sophia Lattanzio denied the two-on-one breakaway.
- The hosts sent the game into the first intermission, tied at 1-1 following a shorthanded effort from Katelyn Pantera. With 42.6 seconds remaining, Pantera stole the puck off a Bowdoin defender in the Amherst zone and skated the length of the right boards before rifling a shot from the dot over Lattanzio's shoulder.
- Bowdoin regained the lead 3:15 into the second period. Maryanne Iodice fired a shot off that was originally stopped by Sabrina Dobbins, but Katie Leininger located the puck to push in the rebound.
- Amherst scored three unanswered goals in the final period to steal the win.

- Lattanzio made 30 saves in net for the Polar Bears.
