Men's Track & Field Finishes Second at Maine State Championship

WATERVILLE, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's track and field team took a runner-up finish at the 2016 Maine State Outdoor Championship on Saturday at Colby College.

The Polar Bears recorded 200 points to trail only Bates (222) with Southern Maine (97), Colby (77), Maine-Farmington (13) and Husson (5) also competing.

Meet Highlights

  • Brian Greenberg continued his hot spring, winning the long jump (6.52 meters) and finishing second in the triple jump (14.38 meters)
  • Bowdoin also got wins from Nicholas Walker in the 10,000 meters (32:25.41) and Calvin Henry in the 1500 meters (4:03.43)
  • Bowdoin finished 1-2-3 in the 800 meters with Jacob Ellis (1:56.06), Conor Donahue (1:56.25) and John Kennealy (1:56.59) finishing less than a second apart
  • Joseph Staudt won the 110 meter hurdles for Bowdoin in 15.19 seconds

  • The Polar Bears will return to action next weekend as they travel to Amherst for the NESCAC Championship meet
