Greenberg Finishes 11th at NCAA Indoor Championship

GRINNELL, Iowa - A pair of Bowdoin athletes captured All-American honors for the first time on day two of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship Saturday at Grinnell College in Iowa.

Senior triple jumper Katie Krupp and sophomore miler Sarah Kelley both captured their first-ever All-American nods to cap a successful weekend for the Polar Bear track & field program at NCAA's.

Saturday Highlights

  • Sarah Kelley ran an almost identical time to her qualifying standard, finishing the mile in a time of 4:56.40 to finish in sixth place and garner her first All-American laurel. Kelley was one of just three non-seniors in the ten-runner field and finished just over four seconds off the winning pace set by Emily Gapinski of St. Thomas (4:52.28)
  • Krupp broke her own school record with a distance of 11.92 meters (39-01.25 feet) on her third attempt, which was good enough to finish fifth overall in the triple jump and notch her first All-American honor. Amber Williams of Wisconsin-Platteville won the event with a distance of 12.43 meters.
  • Sophomore Brian Greenberg placed 11th in the men's triple jump, jumping a distance of 14.02 meters and missing out on qualifying for finals. Greenberg entered the championship seeded 12th and moved up one position in his first-ever appearance at NCAA's.
