BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team skated to a 2-0 shutout over visiting Hamilton on Friday evening.
The Polar Bears collected their second consecutive win to improve to 8-8-2 (5-5-1 NESCAC). The Continentals drop to 10-7-2 (4-5-2 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- Miranda Bell gave Bowdoin the 1-0 lead 2:49 into the game off a feed from Marissa Ficther. Bell skated from the left side towards center, between the circles, and beat Sam Walther blocker side.
- Lan Crofton denied Alycia Racicot with back-to-back stops midway through the period, including a diving glove save on the rebound.
- Megan Fitzgerald skated down the right boards on a Continental power play and fed Andrea Rockey in the slot, executing a 2-on-1. Rockey went far post to tuck away an uncontested bid only to see Crofton close the gap and keep Hamilton off the board midway through the second.
- Ariana Bourque and Julie Dachille created a 2-on-1 of their own with 4:30 remaining in the middle frame. Bourque beat a defender to a loose puck that escaped Bowdoin's zone and slid into Hamilton territory, feeding Dachille in the middle. The sophomore went glove side on Walther, but the goalie turned away Dachille's bid.
- Bourque buried the puck 6:41 into the final period to double Bowdoin's lead. The senior captain picked the pocket of a Hamilton defender and circled back around, finding the back of the net.

- Crofton earned the shutout with 24 saves in net for Bowdoin.
- Walther stopped 30 shots in net for Hamilton.
