Track Teams Post Strong Performances at Open New England's

BOSTON, Mass. - A handful of Bowdoin indoor track & field athletes competed well at the Open New England Championships this weekend at Boston University against competitors from Division I and II programs around the region.

Meet Highlights

  • Jacob Ellis earned the top individual finish for Bowdoin, placing second in the 1000 meters (2:25.46), just fractions of a second off the school record
  • Conor Donahue moved up to 20th in the NCAA D-III rankings with a fourth-place showing in the 800 meters (1:52.31), recording the best time by a D-III entrant
  • Addison Carvajal placed fifth in the pentathlon (3,436 points) and was the top Division III competitor at the meet. She moved up to sixth on the NCAA D-III ranking list with the performance
  • Katharine Krupp was sixth in the triple jump (11.62), breaking her own school record in the process
  • Bowdoin's top relay performance was by the 4x800 squad of John Kennealy, James Sullivan, Donahue and Calvin Henry, who posted a time of 7:44.14, just a second off the school record time that has stood since 1981

  • The ECAC Championship is scheduled for New York City beginning on Friday, March 4. Selections for the NCAA Championship (March 11-12) will be announced early next week
