NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Bowdoin College women's rugby team ended their regular season schedule with a 71-3 loss against Norwich University on Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears conclude their regular season with a record of 5-2.

Game Highlights

• Taking advantage of a Norwich penalty, Liz D'Angelo kicked deep for touch and Bowdoin controlled the lineout perfectly, turning it into a driving maul and moving downfield 20 meters, within striking distance of a score.
• Georgia Bolduc made key try-saving tackles. Offensively with the ball, she turned the corner and outpaced several defenders but ultimately the Norwich cover defense was there for the stop.
• On an early drive in the second half, Bowdoin applied pressure and was threatening to score.  Taking advantage of another Norwich penalty in front of the goal posts, D'Angelo struck a perfect kick for Bowdoin's only points.
• Scrumhalf Jack Dankens defended well, making several tackles and holding up two balls in the in-goal area, preventing Norwich from scoring.
• The Cadets from Norwich provided just such competition on their home field on Senior Day.  The hard running, rucking and aggressive attack style demanded that Bowdoin's defense step up. Paige Pfannenstiel, Sarah Wilson and captain Cristina Lima made double-digit tackles.
