Women’s Rugby Claims Second Straight NIRA Division III 7’s Championship

PHILIPPI, W.V. - The Bowdoin women's rugby team captured its second consecutive title at the NIRA Division III 7s Championship this past weekend in West Virginia, delivering a series of commanding performances to repeat as champions.

Weekend Highlights 
  • Bowdoin opened tournament play with a decisive 38–5 victory over the University of New England, followed by a 46–0 shutout of Warren Wilson. The Polar Bears continued their strong showing with a 27–5 win against Guilford, advancing to the championship match with an unblemished record.
  • In a rematch against the University of New England in the final, Bowdoin concluded the weekend in dominant fashion with a 43–7 victory to secure the program's second straight NIRA Division III 7s crown, having also claimed the title in 2025.
  • The Polar Bears' success was fueled by standout individual efforts throughout the tournament. Justine Endo-Ferguson and Amanda Korfin each recorded hat tricks, leading a dynamic offensive unit.
