Box Score WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Marissa Fichter scored with under three minutes remaining to lift the Bowdoin women's ice hockey team to a 3-2 NESCAC win over host Williams on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears (4-5-0, 2-2-0 NESCAC) force the series split after falling in Friday night's game. The Ephs (6-4-0, 4-2-0 NESCAC) drop only their second conference game of the season after sweeping Wesleyan back in December to close out 2015.
Game Highlights
- Abby Brustad scored the game's first goal with under five minutes remaining in the second period. Eliza Quigley cleared the puck out of her team's own zone and passed up to Brustad who skated down the right boards before going top shelf.
- Miranda Bell evened the score just over a minute later by finishing off a scramble in front of the Ephs' crease. Fichter tallied an assist.
- Bell fed Fichter with 1:44 remaining in the middle frame to give Bowdoin its first lead of the game.
- Williams evened the game nine minutes into the final period as Chelsey Stevenson buried a rebound.
- Fichter notched the game-winner with 2:39 remaining on a solo effort. The first-year lined up a low shot from the right side, with the puck skipping inside the far post.
