CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Bowdoin College track & field teams both earned impressive fifth-place finishes at the New England Division III Championships Saturday at MIT.
The Polar Bear men totaled 50 points to finish second among NESCAC teams while the women's squad racked up 40 points to end third among NESCAC competitors at the meet.
Katharine Krupp led the way for the Polar Bears, winning the New England championship in the triple jump with a distance of 11.76 meters. The other top finish for the Bowdoin women was courtesy of the 4x800 meter relay team of Allyson Fulton, Meghan Bellerose, Demi Feder and Sarah Kelley, who took second place overall in a time of 9:18.82
Bowdoin's men claimed a trio of runner-up showings at the championship. Kevin Hoose placed second in the 3000 steeplechase (9:26.01) for the Polar Bears. Liam Nicoll was also second in the 400 meter race (49.03). Connor Donahue was the runner-up in the 800 meters (1:53.12) by a hundreth of a second.
