Polar Bears Win Two Events at NESCAC Track & Field Championship

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Hayleigh Kein and Erin Silva both won individual titles at the New England Small College Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships Saturday at Williams College.

The Polar Bear men finished with 72 points to take fifth place overall while the women accumulated 63 points to take sixth place at the meet.

Kein took the high jump with a height of 1.63 meters (5-04.25), setting a new facility record at Williams. Silva repeated as the pole vault champion, setting a new NESCAC record with a height of 3.80 meters (12-05.50) to win the event by nearly a foot-and-a-half.

The best finishes for the Bowdoin were second place showings by the Liam Nicoll in the 400 meter dash (49.06), Christopher Genco in the long jump (6.86 meters), Brian Greenberg in the triple jump (14.31 meters) and Andrew Murowchick in the javelin (52.49 meters). Other strong showings for the Bowdoin men included Cam Woodford, who took fourth in the shot put (14.11 meters) and hammer throw (47.80 meters). Conor Donahue was fourth in 800 meters (1:53.69) and Kevin Hoose fourth in the 3000 meter steeplechase (9:39.20).

Other top finishes for the Polar Bear women's team included Randi London, who took second in the shot put (11.97 meters), the discus (37.18 meters) and fourth in the hammer throw (43.00 meters). Pamela Zabala was third in the discus (39.95 meters).
