Four Polar Bears Win Events as Men's Track & Field Places Second at Maine Meet

LEWISTON, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's track and field team earned a second-place finish at the Maine State Outdoor Championship on Saturday hosted by Bates.

The host Bobcats came away with the title, scoring 182 points to slip past the Polar Bears, who ended with 170.5. Southern Maine (134) took third while Colby (120.50) and St. Joseph's (7) rounded out the field.

Bowdoin boasted four state champions in Saturday's meet, including Andrew Murowchick, who won the javelin with a throw of 52.31 meters.

On the track, Kevin Hoose won the 3000 steeplechase (9:28.06), Liam Nicoll took first in the 400 meter dash (49.06) and Conor Donahue won the 800 meters (1:56.08) for the Polar Bears.

The Polar Bears will return to action next weekend when they compete at the NESCAC Championship hosted by Williams.
