Track & Field Team Wins Three Events at UNH Wildcat Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's and women's outdoor track & field teams posted an impressive showing against a strong field at the UNH Wildcat Invitational on Saturday.

The Polar Bear men boasted a pair of first-place finishes, as Latif Armiyaw won the 100 meter dash (11.06) and Bowdoin went 1-2-3 in the long jump, led by a first-place finish from Christopher Genco (6.94 meters). Other top finishes included Bridger Tomlin taking second in the 3000 meter steeplechase (10:03.17) and John Pietro taking a runner-up showing in the shot put (13.96 meters). Bowdoin's top relay team was its 4x100 squad of Rickey Larke, Justin Weathers, Jibrail Coy and Armiyaw, who took second place in the event.

The Bowdoin women were led by Erin Silva on Saturday, as the senior won the pole vault (3.81 meters). Other strong performances saw Allyson Fulton taking second in the 800 meter run (2:21.90), Hayleigh Kein earning runner-up in the high jump (1.57 meters), and Randi London taking silver in the discus throw (41.20 meters).

The Polar Bear women's team will host its annual Aloha Relays meet beginning on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. The men's team will compete at the Maine State Championship on Saturday at Bates at noon.
