SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The men's 4x800 meter relay team came away with a first-place finish to highlight Bowdoin's showing at the New England Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship hosted by Springfield College.
The Polar Bear men finished with 32 points in 8th place overall while the women's team posted 33 points to take 10th place.
Bowdoin's 4x800 squad of Christian Sleeper, James Boeding, Coby Horowitz and Jacob Ellis posted a school-record time of 7:39.42 to dominate the field by more than five seconds. Other top showings on the men's side included Sam Seekins' second-place finish in the 5000 meters (14:47.95) along with Kevin Hoose (9:15.03) and James Boeding (9:26.54) finishing 2-3 in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
The women's 4x800 meter relay almost completed the sweep for Bowdoin, recording a runner-up showing in 9:21.14 by Addison Carvajal, Camille Wasinger, Meghan Bellerose and Demi Feder. Katherine Krupp was second in the triple jump (11.58 meters) while Erin Silva took third in the shot put with a height of 3.74 meters.
