800 Meter Relay Wins Title as Men's Track Places Sixth at NESCAC's

WATERVILLE, Maine - Behind the winning performance of the 4x800 meter relay team, the Bowdoin College men's track & field team placed sixth Saturday at the NESCAC Championship hosted by Colby. The Polar Bears totaled 55.20 points overall.

The relay team of Christian Sleeper, Calvin Henry, James Boeding and Jacob Ellis finished in a winning time of 7:46.96, less than a second off the school-record time.

Ellis posted a second-place finish in the 800 meter run as well, just being edged at the line in a time of 1:50.99. Sam Seekins also collected a second-place showing in the 5000 meters (14:52.50) and Kevin Hoose posted a fifth-place showing in the 3000 steeplechase (9:26.29).

In the field events, Andrew Murowchick took a second-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 53.02 meters. Cam Woodford earned a trio of excellent placements, taking third in the hammer (48.64 meters), and sixth in the discus (39.20 meters) and shot put (13.74 meters).
