SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A handful of Bowdoin track athletes competed at the Easter Relays hosted by Santa Barbara City College last weekend in California as the outdoor track & field team made its season debut.
The Polar Bears posted several top finishes in the non-scoring meet, including wins by Katherine Harmon, Camille Wasinger and James Boeding.
On the women's side, Harmon was a double-winner, earning first place in both the hammer throw (46.31 meters) and discus (39.26 meters). Camille Wasinger took first in 1550 meters (4:56.26) while Sam Copland placed 2nd in 100 meter dash (12.91) and Meghan Bellerose was the runner-up in 800 meter run (2:22.89).
In the men's meet, James Boeding was first in the 3000 steeplechase (9:25.30) as four Bowdoin athletes placed in the top-six overall. Sam Seekins earned a second-place finish in the 5000 meter run (15:54.69).
The Polar Bears will return to action in a few weeks as they host St. Joseph's (Maine) at Whittier Field on Saturday, April 5.
