BOSTON, Mass. - Distance runners Sam Seekins and Coby Horowitz both broke school records to lead the Bowdoin track and field teams at the Open New England Championships at Boston University this weekend.

Both runners earned runner-up finishes in their events, with Seekins making a late push to finish with a time of 14:28.16 in the 5000 meters. Horowitz ran in the lead for most of the mile race, but was edged at the finish line despite his new school record time of 4:06.85.

Katherine Harmon was the top individual finisher for the women's team this weekend, taking 13th place in the weight throw with a distance of 14.58 meters.

The teams will return to action next weekend at the ECAC Championship meet in New York.
