BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's track team finished first and the women's team finished second at a quad meet Saturday at Farley Field House.

The Polar Bear men totaled 200 points to out-score RPI (159), Tufts (108) and Springfield (81). Tufts won the women's meet with a score of 171.50, edging the host Polar Bears (169.5) ahead of Springfield (134) and RPI (105).

Samantha Copland broke into the Bowdoin record books by setting a new school mark in the women's 60-meter dash (8.10). She took second overall in the event. The previous mark of 8.13 was previously held by Emily Barr.
 
In the men's meet, Bowdoin had several winners en route to the first-place showing. Kyle LeBlanc won the 60-meter dash (7.14), Jarred Kennedy-Loving took the 200-meter dash (23.31) and Matthew Gamache placed first in the 400 meter dash (52.32). In the distance events, Coby Horowitz dominated the field in the one-mile run (4:15.91) by over eight seconds, Bowdoin went 1-2 in the 1000 meter run with James Boeding (2:37.87) edging Christian Sleeper (2:40.06), and Sam Seekins placed first in the 3000 meter run (8:48.61). The Polar Bears also won the 4x400 meter relay (3:30.18).

In the field events, Bowdoin took the top two spots in the pole vault courtesy of Eddy Page (4.3 meters) and Peter Tracy (4.15 meters).

In the women's meet, Michele Kaufman was a multiple winner, claiming first in the 60 meter hurdles (9.39) and the long jump (5.21 meters). Other winners included Camille Wasinger in the 600-meter dash (1:43.03) and the 4x400 meter relay (4:09.69).
