Three School Records Fall as Polar Bears Take Top D-3 Times at Valentine's Invite

BOSTON, Mass. - The Bowdoin College indoor track and field team enjoyed a record-setting weekend at the Valentine's Invitational hosted by Boston University on Friday and Saturday.

The men's distance medley relay team (Coby Horowitz, Matt Gamache, Colin Fong, and Matt Hillard) and Elsa Millet in the 400 meters turned in NCAA Division III leading performances at the Valentine's Invitational in Boston this past weekend. The DMR relay team is ranked #1 in the country this week after their time of 9:49.27, and Millet has the fastest time for the women's 400 (55.68).  This is the first time Bowdoin has had two national list-leading performances in the same week since Joan Benoit graduated in 1979.

Meanwhile, Matt Hillard ran a time of 2:28.57 in the 1000 meters to set a new school record as well.

In the field loaded with Division I programs, the men's DMR team placed first overall. Millett took fifth while Hillard ran in 11th.
